S.
Lynn Marie McKenzie graduated from the University of Alabama
School of Law and later earned her degree in canon law from
The Catholic University of America. She has practiced
law with the firm since 1986 and is a member of the Executive
Committee of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association.
Sister
Lynn, who is a Catholic nun as well as a lawyer, particularly
enjoys representing workers who have been hurt on the
job with their worker's compensation claims and related
cases. Her previous work as a mediator in worker's compensation
cases with the State of Alabama Department of Industrial
Relations, Worker's Compensation Division, gives her an
edge in representing injured employees. In addition, she
is an advocate for people who have applied for disability
benefits through the Social Security Administration. Having
considerable experience especially in these two areas
of the law, Sister Lynn is often sought out by clients
as well as other lawyers who wish to refer clients to
her.
In
addition, Sister Lynn has served as an advocate for the
rights of hundreds of children in the juvenile court system,
as well as representing family members of children who
too often find their dear ones caught up in the foster
care system. As a respected lawyer in this area of the
law, Sister Lynn is often appointed to serve as a judge
in the absence of the Cullman County juvenile court judges.
